The Grady Firm, P.C. attended the 4th annual EB-5 Conference in Los Angeles hosted by EB5 Investors Magazine on August 2-3, 2015 at the sold out Hyatt Century Plaza in Century City. Five hundred regional centers, attorneys, and EB-5 program stakeholders attended the event.  The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program (EB-5), administered by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), provides opportunities for qualified foreign nationals to achieve permanent legal residency in the U.S. through an investment in an USCIS-approved project that will generate at least ten full-time jobs in the United States.

The event’s Keynote speaker, House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA-6), expressed his support fort he EB-5 program by stating that it will continue to to benefit the American economy by way of its economic stimulus.  Special guest speaker, Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, described planned legislation to sustain the EB-5 regional center program and implementation of reforms to maintain the progress of ongoing EB-5 projects.  He also described the ways EB-5 funds were used to sustain the Pennsylvania economy during the economic recession, and to catapult Pennsylvania from the 47th state to the 9th state in the nation in terms of job creation. He also recalled that when a Pennsylvania convention center expansion expected to create 5,000 construction jobs came $110 million short, foreign capital raised through the EB-5 program filled in the gap.  In addition, he called for use of the funds as a way to build and maintain major infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
