Need Seasonal Workers? Start Your H-2B Visa Application Early

Workers in diverse uniforms stand smiling; one holds a fish. Text: "April 1," "Start Now!," "H-2B Visa Season is Here." Bright, welcoming colors.

H-2B visa (temporary worker) season is almost here! We're already preparing for April 1 employment start dates by filing the first step of the process in October 2025. If you need seasonal workers next spring, you need to start planning NOW.

The H-2B visa program is incredibly competitive - over 100,000 applications fighting for just 33,000 spots. This vital program helps:

  • Landscape contractors with busy summer months

  • Fishermen requiring additional crew

  • Hotels, resorts, and amusement parks needing temporary staff

  • Construction companies with seasonal demands

  • Trucking companies with a local, seasonal uptick in business.

After years of handling these applications, I can tell you this process is both nuanced and complicated.

Successful applications require six months of extensive preparation for a 6-month stay.

Because of the short duration of these visas, timing is everything.

Companies that wait until the last minute often find themselves scrambling or worse - without the workers they desperately need.

What makes these applications successful?

Starting early, understanding the documentation requirements, and having experienced guidance.

Over the last 7 years, we have prepared many H-2B applications twice per year.  With this experience, we learned what makes a winning case, and what's a waste of time.

We know how to navigate the Supplemental Visa process when the original cap fills in the January and July lotteries, and how to be successful even with a low lottery assignment.

H-2B visas are actually the hardest type of immigration cases that we process! Don't rely on an in-house employee, or a non-attorney to help you with this complicated journey.

We're extremely thorough with our H-2B applications, which is why our success rate remains high despite all the challenges that come from the Department of Labor, whose main job is to preserve jobs for U.S. workers.

If your business relies on seasonal workers, now is the time to start your H-2B application process if your high season falls during April to October.

The workers you need for your busy season depend on you getting this right.
