How we helped a trucking company grow millions in revenue

Truck on the road

One of my most rewarding client partnerships has been with a trucking company facing critical workforce shortages.

When they first approached us, they were struggling to find two essential roles: diesel mechanics and truck drivers—positions that are notoriously hard to fill in today's market.

Over the years, we've developed a comprehensive immigration strategy that has transformed their business:

1. We targeted their specific labor needs

After understanding their business operations and requirements, we created a targeted approach to find qualified diesel mechanics and drivers through immigration channels.

2. We implemented a multi-visa strategy

Rather than relying on a single visa pathway, we used a combination of:

• H-2B visas for their seasonal needs at different locations.

• Employment-based options for permanent positions.

• Green card sponsorship for key team members they wanted to retain long-term.

3. We coordinated timing across multiple locations

With operations in different parts of the country, we staggered visa applications to ensure they had workers available year-round where and when they needed them. We were able to do this because their locations had different seasonal needs.

4. We focused on long-term workforce stability

For their most valuable team members, we began the green card process, creating clear pathways to permanent residence that helped with employee retention.

The results speak for themselves: over the last 6 years, for 12 seasons and two job types (counting at least 25 applications, including PERM Processing), we've helped them repeatedly secure the workforce they needed to grow their business—adding millions of dollars in revenue through these additional workers.

How did this help? They were able to keep the contracts they have, and bid on new contracts when there competitors were understaffed and unable to do so.

We've built a niche for ourselves that few other attorneys in the US are able to do consistently and successfully. In my opinion, the H-2B visas are some of the hardest--but most important--visas to obtain. While other competitors did not secure any visas, we were able to get them for our client year after year--despite low lottery numbers in the annual cap.

This is why I'm passionate about business immigration—when done strategically, it's not just about paperwork. It's about solving critical business problems and enabling growth that wouldn't otherwise be possible. It's even more rewarding when the client is a hard-working entrepreneur who provides for her family and employees.

For companies struggling with specialized workforce shortages, a well-executed immigration strategy might be the solution you haven't fully explored.
